Maria thought for a moment. "I don't see why there shouldn't be...", she said, "And I don't have much of a problem with my shoes, and I'm almost always in combat boots!", Maria continued. "I guess it's off to the stores?", she asked, heading toward the entrance. Maria could already tell that this was gonna be a great day. "So, what kind of costumes were you wanting to buy?", Maria asked. Suddenly, she made a realisation: They were going into a mall. Malls back home always seemed to have at least one store that specialised in... Maria stopped that chain of thought in its tracks. The last thing she needed was another chocolate-inspired bout of hyperactivity.

Ea nodded, and stepped up the pace so that she was in step with Maria. Deciding to be bold, she slipped her hand into the girl's, holding tight. "Whatever you say. I'll follow you." More double meanings, though this one was completely innocent, in a heartbreaking way. To distract herself from what exactly she had meant with that last comment (you always get involved too quick, fall head over heels before you even stop to think!) she clued in to what Maria had asked. "Any costumes, really. Historical costumes are sort of a hobby with me. Or more like an obsession." There was a strange expression on Maria's face, and Ea raised an eyebrow. "Uh oh. What is that for?"

"Okay!", Maria said. As Ea slipped her hand into her own, Maria felt her mood lift even more. "I'm kind of like that with swords.", Maria responded, "I just can't walk by a store selling swords without taking a look inside. I only really collect famous ones, though. Not that ordinary swords aren't good enough or anything, it's just that I'm more of a collecter when it comes to buying swords and nothing's more collectable than the sword of a character from a movie or anime or videogame.", she continued.
"It's just... well, a lot of malls back home have at least one store that specialises in my favorite food, and I... tend to get a little hyper when I'm reminded of it.", Maria replied. <A little?>, she thought, <Well, that's an understatement...>.

"Is there a sword store here?" If there was, Ea could come back later and get her one. She had more money than she knew what to do with, anyway. And she wanted to buy Maria a present (not that she felt guilty about something, or anything like that. Of course not) "You have swords from video games and movies? That is so very cool!" She pressed a bit closer to the girl, whispering in her ear, a smirk on her lips. "Maybe, when you show me your dorm, you could give me a little tour?"
"What's your favorite food?" Ea questioned, mental notepad at the ready. This was serious, important information. And hyper was never bad, in her opinion. Especially not when it was your girlfriend that was the hyper one. "And here I was, thinking that was a different kind of look." Though not many malls had a sex store in them. They were usally a bit further off the beaten path. ...Not that she went to those kind of stores. Not often.

"There might be...", Maria replied, "We'll have to check the directory.", she continued. Maria decided to come back some time later and see about buying a ninja outfit for Ea.
"Well... I suppose if I wrote it down, I wouldn't get as hyper...", Maria mused, taking out a pen and paper. She wrote down the name of the food, then tore off the slip of paper and handed it to Ea. She felt the familiar rush that usually accompanied thoughts of chocolate. After what seemed an eternity, her willpower won out and she focused on the task of finding a directory.

Ea watched in amusement as Maria wrote the word down. It was this bad? She couldn't even say it without getting excited? Ea reckoned some experimenting was in order at some point today. "Will you be able to control yourself if we pass a store? Or should we first look into buying some handcuffs?" Smiling widely, she looked around. The mall was pretty crowded, it being a Saturday and all. Actually, all the people kind of made her nervous. Her grip tightened on Maria's hand. "I think that's a directory over there. Or at least a map." She pointed to their left.

Maria chuckled at Ea's joke. "No, I'll be fine. I'll just look...", Maria replied, more to convice herself than anything else. Those handcuffs didn't sound at all like a bad idea, though... Maria shook her head. This was a shopping trip! Now was not the time to be thinking about stuff like that!
Maria looked in the direction Ea pointed. Yes, that was indeed a directory there. She walked over to the directory and studied it. Thankfully, the map legend was in english as well as spanish. One particular store caught her eye. Le Chocolat Celeste. Maria shook her head. <Focus, Maria! You're looking for a sporting goods store!>, she thought. But still...

Ea smiled. "You have to write it down? You're too hyper to even say it?" This would need some experimenting. She leaned in closer to Maria, brushing her hair to the side to whisper in her ear. "Would it be wrong to take advantage of that knowledge?" A smirk on her lips, she pulled away, then looked to her left. "I think I see a directory over here."
There was a tall man staring at them from over by the donut shop to her left. Ea sneaked a look at her, then looked away. "Come on," she muttered, pulling Maria so that she would walk faster. The man was still watching them, she could see him out of the corner of her eye. He must be in his mid-twenties, and wide in the shoulders. She didn't like the look of him.

"Yeah, well... I hear the word mentioned, and... Well, ever seen those Beggin' Strips commercials? I'm like the dog.", Maria ruefully admitted. She blushed at the remark, rather embarrassed. She grinned slightly at Ea's next question. "Well, I can't see why you would, but I wouldn't hold it against you if you did!", she replied.
Maria looked at the directory again. "I think I see a sporting equipment store! It's called Boxing Day Sports-', Maria observed, "Oww!", Maria cried, pulled off her feet by Ea's pull on her arm. "What was that for...?", she whined. Maria thought she saw someone watching them, but Ea had pulled her away too soon to be sure.

Ea actually did know those commercials. The image had her giggling. She tucked a strand of Maria's hair behind her ear, and pulled away again. "You can always find seductive uses for... that stuff." Ea giggled at that thought. Chocolate had become a taboo word. And she liked it.
"Which way was the sport store?" Ea looked around quickly, trying to find out where Maria was talking about. She sneaked a glance back at the donut store, and her heart skipped a beat. He wasn't there anymore. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Just trust me on this. Because there was this guy-" another wild look around. "-and he was glaring. And we're holding hands. And one plus one equals two." Her mind was racing. She had done this before. And sometimes it worked out well, and sometimes it didn't. For Maria's sake, Ea hope it worked out. Maria looked like she might not have dealt with this before.
