With the type of silence and trainquility only offered by complete solitude, it was no wonder that the aquarium section of the Aqualeon at night was such a beautiful place. The lights in the hallways all off, leaving the only visible light to come from the fish tanks.
And the creatures...the creatures! How splendid they were! They almost seemed to be locked in a glamorous dance, thinking they were all alone. No eyes to peer at them and disturb their midnight elegance. No eyes except for one pair, that was. Sitting within one of the hallways that were completely surrounded by the aquarium besides the flooring, violet eyes stared up in awe as a shark floated by over-head.
The owner of those eyes, Rolo, had always loved aquariums. This was a fact that none besides himself knew--in his line of work, showing any sortof preference for anything was potentially life-threatening. That didn't change the fact that the young boy loved them, and had often snuck out of school and into this very aquarium on week-nights.
Finally, he could be all alone. Rolo didn't hate people, per say, he only hated what they caused. War, drama, arguements. Fish were far simpler. Or maybe it's just that they can't feel guilt. They do horrible things to each other...but they don't feel remorse. Or do they? Rolo wondered, increasingly confused by his own thoughts. Shouldn't he hate fish, too? If he hated humans for war, why wouldn't he hate fish for blatantly murdering one another? He couldn't come to an answer, and that bothered him. Yet as always, Rolo tried to push the thought from his mind. It would do him no good to think on something to the point of aggrivation when he knew that he wouldn't have gotten anywhere.
A sting-ray hovered over the place he was sitting for a moment. Rolo felt as though it was watching him--inspecting the boy just as the boy was inspecting the ray. It swam off undisturbed, but Rolo still felt the elation in his heart. It'd been a strange feeling, as if he'd connected with the creature. He bit his bottom lip to fight back the smile that threatened to spread over his face. One day, he wondered if he'd be able to make a connection with another person.
He doubted it, but he could hope nonetheless. He slowly curled his knees up, and clutched them within his arms. The boy was wearing nothing more than a 3/4 sleeve dark-green turtleneck, tight black jeans, and a pair of converses. Usually, he'd be wearing more clothing, or clothing of a more unique, 'metro' style, but Rolo wasn't planning on seeing anyone. Unless a security guard happened upon him, but Rolo had no doubt that he would be able to outrun them and avoid detection.
That would be unfortunate for him, though, as he really didn't want to leave. He rarely felt at peace or trainquil; the aquarium was one of the only places that granted the boy that feeling.

The night was cold, and the air within the Aqualeon water & safari park was even chilly, if that was possible. A single boy could be seen pushing his way through the metal front gates of the park, which were left unguarded. The darkness was almost overwhelming, but not as much for the boy as he made his way into the park with an air of calmness and relaxedness surrounding him.
He wore only a sleeveless black hoodie, complete with a matching pair of skinny black jeans and a pair of black converse sneakers. The night was cold, but the boy left his hoodie's zip down, as though he was unbothered by the chill. Perhaps he couldn't feel it, or perhaps he really enjoyed the occasionally night breeze - It was something you hardly get in dormitories.
Lelouch Lamperouge sighed as he dropped his head, scratching the back of his neck casually as he sauntered through the Aqualeon, his left hand in his pockets. He was never the type of good boy to stay in his dormitories, and to fall asleep on time.. Wandering through different places at night was exactly what Lelouch loved to do, especially since he was totally new here. As he strolled past the darkened water park, with the obvious 'CLOSED' sign hung on its gates, Lelouch couldn't help but to sigh again, a hint of sorrow in his purple eyes.
He had just been transferred here - It was barely his first week, and Lelouch couldn't help but to feel a little left out as he saw the people on this campus; It seems almost as though everyone already had a pair. The term had started before he was enrolled, so it would be a natural thing for him to miss out on things here and there. It would take time, Lelouch kept telling himself. You can't rush the people here, expecting them to like you on the first day. Still.. Lelouch sighed again as he headed towards the aquarium. He really didn't like the feeling of being the odd one out here.
Stopping suddenly, Lelouch held his spot for a while, stretching his back as he looked up at the skies. The moon grinned merrily back at him, as though silently mocking him - Lelouch was alone, by himself, but the moon had all the sparkling stars beside it.. He sighed once more and pulled his black hood up to prevent himself from scratching further. At the rate I'm sighing, I'll age exponentially.. Lelouch considered, unable to not chuckle at his own thoughts. However, his chuckle came out the wrong way - It sounded forced, and sad, forcing him to stop laughing awkwardly after only a short while, and to continue walking, heading towards the aquarium without any idea why he was going there at all.
Lelouch entered the dark aquarium, unsurprised that the place was unlit, like the other areas in the park - The in-charges kept this place well in the nights. As he navigated through the maze of water and darkness, Lelouch couldn't help but to admire the creatures in their tanks as they glided through the waters elegantly on their own accord, not bothered if they were being stared at, not bothered if they weren't liked by the others who stared at them. Lelouch raised his left hand and caressed the glass screens that seperated him from the flood of waters and creatures gently, feeling the frostiness on the tip of his fingers as the cold threatened to numb his fingers of their senses. Ah, the ease of living like one of those creatures..
As Lelouch crossed a stretch of straight path and came to a crossroad, instinct told him to head to the left, and so he followed. He kept his fingertips on the icy cold glass even though he felt as though his fingers were soon going to die from the numbness, and didn't even think about removing them. As Lelouch rounded on the next bend, he caught sight of a lonely figure sitting on a bench, his knees in his arms as he hugged himself. Is he a student, like me? Is he hurt or something? Questions flooded Lelouch's mind in that instant, but he didn't feel like he should approach the person - He might not be welcomed.. Lelouch whipped around and turned, prepared to leave. If the person wandered all the way here by himself, he must have some purpose, or he must have wanted some peace and quiet on his own. With his back facing the boy now, Lelouch took a step and prepared to leave.
Perhaps he was too nervous at seeing another person who was, apparently, alone like him, or perhaps he really didn't feel the need to leave. When Lelouch took his second step, his foot landed on something on the ground which he didn't notice previously, and he slipped across the cold floors. Landing hard on his back, Lelouch fought back a yell by biting his lips - It successfully stopped him from yelling out loud, but it couldn't trap the pained moan that escaped his lips.. Lelouch felt a little metalic-like, salty taste spread across his tongue. Shit, I think I bit my lips too hard..
At this moment, Lelouch was totally distracted by his fall, and he didn't realise the movements of the person behind him..
