The Story Writing Game
Ahaha, time to bring back an old childhood game!
Do you remember the days when your English teacher would sit your class in a circle, and announce that you were all going to make a story together? They would make up the first sentence of a story, and then instruct the student next to them to give the next sentence. The next student would make up the next sentence, etc., etc.
Well, since I know we all here love writing, why not give it a try?
Now, the rules of the game are simple:
-I'll start by giving one sentence, and the person who posts after me gives the next sentence of the story. Then another person will post, giving the next sentence, etc.
-No more than one sentence a post!
-Within the first six posts, we'll need to have established, at the very least, the story's protagonist and the setting.
-It's okay for the story to be goofy, but don't take a story that's been going seriously and suddenly throw in "AND THEN THEY WENT TO MARS AND HAD A PICNIC WITH ABRAHAM LINCOLN, THE END".
-As far as dialog goes, you may add a "he said" or "she said" to the end to make it more concise.
-When a story has gone on long enough, I'll post and let everyone know that the next four posters need to wrap it up, so we may start anew.
-Don't use real characters or situations from the site! Everything is supposed to be made up from scratch.
Example:
First poster:
"Once upon a time, there was a sexy man named Samuel L. Jackson."
Second poster:
"He was a God walking among mere mortals, with abs sculpted by the very heaven's themselves."
Third poster:
"Everything was perfect with Samuel and his amazing abs, until the day came when he boarded a plane."
Fourth poster:
"Instantly, his snake-sensing abilities shot into action--there were motha-fuggin snakes on that motha-fuggin plane!"
Goofiest example of my life, but it'll do.
I'll post the first sentence of the first story in my next post!
