Appearance:
The boy likes to be unique. He enjoys having the ability to stand out in any crowd if he tries. Or, in some cases, not try. Rudy's hair, for instance. It is not cut professionally or anything. He cuts it himself. Which is probably why the length of his hair is off in so many places. The boy is not a hair stylist. His hair reaches down the back of his neck but, in the front, seems long enough to get past his eyes and, even at some place, past his shoulders. But his hair style was never important to him. The fact that his hair is purple was often important. Not naturally, of course! Rudy was born with black hair. But he's constantly bleaching it so he can get the purple hair dye to go in right. Purple had always been such a royal and majestic color. He told himself that a person couldn't have too much purple, which is why he never lets any other color touch his hair except when he dyes it back to black. At times, he'll even wear purple contact lenses when he's feeling really purple that day. But, in reality, his eyes are red just like his mothers hand been. Yet the boy isn't Albino. Pale, yes... but not Albino.
Rudy spent most of his life being smaller than a lot of the other kids. It was only recently that he went through a growth spurt that made him taller than most of his family members. He only stands at five feet and eight inches, but it's better than the five feet he use to be. Along with the feet, his happen to be size twelve, in males sizes while around fourteen in females, and they have been for awhile. Some people would actually go far enough to tease him about his big feet and make possible sexual jokes because of them. With a rather high metabolism, Rudy has himself a thin build. Though he isn't anywhere near unhealthy. He eats like a pig if you're offering him food. Along with his thin build, the boy is flexible and frequently able to fit through small places even if he himself is decently tall. But, though thin, the wind isn't about to blow him away over the seas. Nor is he about to break like a twig when you throw a punch or even touch him. But he is human. You throw you fist at his nose hard enough and it is going to break under the impact. Many people have labeled him as fragile due to the fact that he's build is skinny but they never get to find out if it's true or not because he tends to be out of their clutches and gone before you can call after him.
Rudy has always been the one in his family with a sewing fascination. It was his aunt who started teaching him at a young age when he showed interest in it. A lot of what he wears, he makes himself. At least, the things that don't look normal. All hats, scarves and gloves he wears are made by him. Not normally the shirts or pants. A lot of the time, the jackets are made by him too. As many people would quickly take notice, most of what Rudy wears is either black or purple. He's such a happy and bubbly boy, yet he's into the darker color. Unless you're talking about bright violet. He'd definitely go for that. But Rudy seems to normally like to wear simple things even if he owns some pretty out of this world clothing pieces. If he wants to stand out, he'll wear something crazy but, from what he's learned in the past, you really need to learn to blend in when you're around the wrong people.
Personality:
Everything that Rudy does, he does with good intentions. If he slaps you, it's probably because you've gone crazy and you need a good thwap to regain your senses. If he takes away your cigarettes, it's probably only because he's crying inside at the thought of you dying from lung cancer. Everything he does is for good reasons. It's to save and help other people. So rarely will the boy ever do something to help himself. At least, not at the cost of someone else's happiness. He will not do something if there's someone in the world who will be sad about it. But there is an exception. Rudy has been labeled as quite the Robin Hood kind of fellow. Among his group of friends, he has been labeled the thief. Nicknamed Swift for the fact that he can get in and out of places unseen and even while carrying large objects. But the theft is for good causes as well. Steal from the rich and give to the poor. If asked to be the leader of his group, he will take the wallet of a rich man and use it for a better cause like homeless children or people with diseases. That is one of the only times he will harm someone else for the good of another.
Rudy has pretty much taken up helping people as a hobby. If you ask him for a favor, he'll drop what he's doing and go to your aid. Even if you don't want your help and there's clearly something wrong, he'll try to convince you to let him help him. He is a good listener after all. Though also a good talker. He's really good at giving most kinds of advice but the good thing about his talking tends to be that he's a kind soul. He says the sweet things that make a lot of people tingly and happy inside. Rudy really tries to brighten everyone's day. And, with the bubbly and cheerful personality, he's normally able to do so. But there are those people who hate such hyper and happy people. Around those people, Rudy knows to calm down. Yet he'll still smile and giggle along with being rather happy. He just won't start bouncing off the walls or break out into song.
There is one major problem with Rudy though. He tries so hard to be innocent. He is. But he's seen people die, he's committed theft and even shanked people, though for self-defense purposes. But he tries to pretend that none of that happened. Whenever he does something he doesn't like or something doesn't go the way he wants it to, he just pushes away and pretends it never happened. Or, if he can't do that, he changes the story and said it went another way. Though it's never changed in a way to make him look like a hero. Just in a way that won't make him appear as the bad, corrupted boy. A big problem is that the boy is afraid to lie. When he lies, he finds himself crying. Sometimes, this can be really useful when the lie is something emotional anyways. Like faking sick or explaining how someone's cat ran away when it's actually dead. Crying can work out with those. Along with the crying, Rudy tends to get rather emotional. Though he doesn't look like a sensitive guy, he does get really angry when someone insults him and depressed when he finds out someone hates him. Rudy tries hard to be liked and, when he's disliked, he tries to find a way to make the person happy so that they can start to like him.

History:
They were good parents, even if Rudy never knew them very well. David and Maria seemed to enjoy the idea of children. Not just one either. Maria always thought it would be wondrous to have at least two little angels to raise. Joshua came first followed by Rudolf four years afterward. Then little Faery was born one year after that. They weren't a particularly rich family, but they had the money to raise their children and keep themselves happy. Though they could have been happy without the money either way. Happy until the accident, at least. Rudolf was only two years old when his parents were both taken from him. They were told it was a car accident. It was a cover up. The parents, out of nowhere, disappeared and, even after searching for them, there was no sign. The car was found at the bottom of a cliff and the body of the mother was found quite a distant away from it. The father wasn't seen but, after weeks of searching, then labeled him deceased as well.
A six year old, a two year old and a girl who was barely even one. The plan had been to put them in an orphanage up for adoption. But the brother of the father and his wife were quite willing to take the children in and look after them. Rudy and his family had been born in Australia though they had an American mother and a Japanese father. The family that was taking them in lived in Tokyo. So they were brought on a plane and sent there to live with their aunt and uncle. When they arrived, they realized that the couple did already have a child. A four year old boy that they'd named Espio. At this time, the mother was also pregnant with a baby girl who was She was due to have the baby in another month and a half. Rudy was rather excited at the idea because then he'd get to spend his whole entire life with the baby and be like a real big brother rather just a simple cousin.
The family got along decently. Actually, it tended to be more that they all hated the other side of the family. You got Espio who hates Joshua, hates Faery and pretty much pays no attention to his sister, Siri. Yet he adores Rudy. You've got Faery who seemed to love everyone. Siri who got crazy on her feelings toward her family but clearly hated Josh. Then you have Josh who hates his cousins and his neutral toward his siblings. It got rather confusing. Everyone pretty much hated everyone else. Yet Rudy loved all of them. They were his family and he wouldn't trade them for the world. Rudy would always try to spend an equal amount of time with each of his siblings and cousins unless they clearly didn't want him around. But Espio and Faery seemed to always accept Rudy's company. Joshua, more often than less, was out being cool with his friends and Siri just seemed to disappear all the time. Most people didn't notice when Siri was gone, but Rudy was always curious as to where she'd disappear to.
Days, weeks and years went by. School came along and friends were made. Rudy started becoming a bit more distant from his family and hanging around more with his friends. Two, if not three days of every week, he would be out with some friend or another rather than staying home with his family like he would in the past. At the age of eight is when Rudy met his best friend. It was also when he developed his very first crush. But there was one little bit of a problem with his crush. It was a boy. Noah Menta. The same age Rudy was, just two months older. He was a really quiet boy, but rather sweet and Rudy just felt so happy and warm when the kid was around. Rudy, who was normally outgoing and talkative around everyone, always found himself shy around Noah. He was far too nervous to spend days at Noah's house like he did with his other friends. Though he was constantly asked to go there and to even spend the night, Rudy would make up excuses about how he promised to send the day with his sister. He hadn't actually made such a promise but, every time he made that excuse, Rudy really would go spend that day with his sister because he hated lying. And, of course, because he just loved being around Faery. She was like a ray of sunshine.
But that ray of sunshine was soon taken away from him. Or so he thought. Rudy wasn't told who did it. But someone had to have given her that last push in order for her to do what she did. Faery would have never willingly done something that could so easily get herself killed. Or, if willingly, it would have took a lot of persuasion and probable lies. From the small amount of the story heard by Rudy, the girl had done it in order to live up to her name. She was Faery. But she had no wings. From a high up place, she jumped and, rather than taking flight like she thought she would, she hit the ground below. There was a lot of screaming, begging and crying before Rudy was finally allowed to go to the hospital in order to see his sister. He was so sure that she was going to die though he wanted her to live. But, if she were to die, he wanted to be there by her side. Only him. He wanted to be the only person in her last moments. But the doctor's said she would live. Rudy was so relieved. But, life came with a cost. There girl was to most probably never walk again. Even though the girl was in a wheelchair, Rudy was so happy. She was alive. If she were to ever need help standing, her big brother Rudy would be there. He was constantly at her side, refusing to let her almost die again.
It was around this time that Rudy's secret was let out. The one about the fact that he was homosexual. It had been rather obvious but, if any family members knew, no one pointed it out till one night at the dinner table when Rudy was going on about Noah again. Out of nowhere, Espio stood up and yelled out that Rudy was so gay. Literally gay. Not stupid, but homosexual. Rudy was rather panicked that his family was to find this out but the thing that freaked him out more was how angry Espio got over the fact that his cousin was gay. No one had known that Espio was homophobic until that night when he vented out how he hates all these gay people in the world and how they should just go with the way love is supposed to be. A man and a woman. Or no love at all. It was rude and his parents were not pleased by the outburst. But it was Rudy and Faery that were most freaked out. Rudy was gay and it was later realized that Faery was a lesbian. With Espio being so homophobic, such wasn't good for either of them.
Age thirteen and Rudy was left rather heartbroken. All along, Noah had known about his sexuality. He knew so well that Rudy was in love with him. But Noah was clearly straight, always would be. He made that clear to Rudy but said he'd always want to be friends. This was the day before he moved away back to America with his family. Rudy was left depressed and alone. Most days were spent locked in his room, the only one ever being let inside would have been Faery. Rudy could just never say no to her. But Joshua almost broke the boy's door right down and dragged him out one day to hang with his own friends. At first, Rudy wasn't sure what to think of the group. They were lead by a young man who called himself Singer. In fact, they were a gang. Though one with good intentions. They would steal from the rich and would give to the poor. They would beat down rapists and killers in order to save women and children. Everything they did was for a good cause. Even if some of the things they did involved killing.
Rather than hanging around his friends from school, Rudy found himself hanging out with Joshua's friends. They happily took him into their gang to show him how it worked out. The second in command was a man called Skylark. They called him such for the fact that he seemed as light as a feather and had a fascination with air crafts. Singer had even gone far enough to buy him one as an engagement present. Singer and Skylark, though both males, were lovers and this almost broke Rudy's heart when he found that out. After all, he had fallen rather hard for the Skylark. He was so kind and graceful. A heart of gold and a will of steel. But Skylark was in love with Singer and were scheduled to get married in a few months time. Though Rudy crushed so hard on him, he was forcing himself to move on. There were others in the group though most didn't become all too close with Rudy. There was Sniper, which was just the codename for Joshua due to the fact that he could handle any firearm. And then there was Promise. When you needed something done, this young man would get it done. He promise that he'd succeed. His nickname told all. Promise never broke a promise. But Rudy rarely saw the male and never had many chances to speak to him because Promise was more often than not out spying on enemies or taking down opposing gangs.
When Rudy turned fourteen though, that was when he was taken into the gang. They'd realized that the boy was quick on his feet. He could get in and out of places unseen. He was almost silent. They started calling him Swift. They never sent him on big jobs but, if they needed a lookout for a short while or wanted a wallet stolen from a rich man, they would send Rudy. He could get it done. He was their scout and personal pickpocket. Unfortunately, this was also the time when Joshua left. Not just the gang, but left home without a word to his aunt and uncle and never really planned to return again. It happened when a new boy was accepted into the gang. Nightingale Zohar. But they gave Night the nickname Moonshine mainly for the fact that they thought it went well with the name Night. It was also do the fact that he spewed fictional nonsense and was quite the idiot. The only use was his memory. A photographic memory right there. It was something they could use. But Night and Josh came close after only two months. And, together, they ditched the gang. It wasn't hard to see that Night was panting at Joshua's feet. Often, he would confess his love to the older boy. But Joshua would make it very clear that he wasn't into men. Yet he developed a soft spot for the boy and, together, they left with no word as to where.
It was only a few months after that when a horrible incident occurred at home. Espio had informed Rudy that there was something rather important that he had to show him up in the attic. The attic being where Espio had set up his bedroom. Rudy and Espio were very close so he went along and followed. When the door was locked behind them, he didn't ask question. He only started to ask question when Espio pushed him onto the bed and climbed on top of him. But Rudy was silenced with a kiss before any words could be said and, unwillingly, Rudy was stripped down to the nude while Espio stripped himself as well. Rudy didn't understand why Espio was doing this. Though he didn't scream. He cried through the entire act as Espio whispered in his ear about how if Rudy won't stop being gay then he'd have to show him how bad it hurts to be gay. How bad things happen when you like your own gender.
The unthinkable act was over and it was too late to save Rudy's virginity. But it was then that his aunt entered the room to find her son naked on top of her nephew, who also happened to be naked. There wasn't a good reaction. Espio was yelled at by his mother. She went on about how she had always known he was gay. But to rape his own cousin? Of course, Espio denied being gay. Sure, he had some rather girly habits but he claimed that those didn't mean anything and should be forgotten about entirely. The couple had never had a problem with homosexual children. They didn't mind in the least. But if one of their children was willing to rape another family member, then something had to be done about it. There was a school known as La Campana. A reform school for the homosexual. It was there that Espio was sent. But not before Rudy had his final words. Rudy explained that he forgave Espio. The boy was his cousin and, even though he had clearly raped him, he wasn't about to hold a grudge. He explained to Espio it was okay and, as a gift, Rudy gave to Espio a hat he'd been making for a month. It was in the shape of a frog head. Espio yelled at him that it was a punishment for him to have to wear the hat. But Rudy just said it was a gift. And then Espio was gone.
Slowly, with Espio gone, Rudy seemed to become even more distant from home. He started to spend most days with his gang rather than with his family. Maybe it was because Promise had his work cut down. He was hanging around with the group more often rather than taking down the opposing gangs. Rudy got to really know more about Promise. He seemed to be complete badassery. Outgoing and adventurous. Often labeled foolish when he calls himself brave. Most of the time, he would get full of himself and brag about all the people he killed on the tasks he was sent on. Rudy may have been bothered by the male's personality if it weren't for the day when he happened to walk into the bathroom while the boy was there. Promise was covered with blood from the killing mission he had been sent on. But rather than smiling and being proud that he'd succeeded, he was on his knees, hand over his face as he cried. On instinct, Rudy went to him and pulled him into his arms. Promise didn't like his job. He didn't enjoy it in the least. He just pretended to because, after Joshua left, there was no one left in the group to act like the cool kid. Rudy quickly found out about the kind-hearted person that Promise really was. Rudy feel deeply and completely in love.
It took Rudy awhile to realize it. He would go home after school every few days and, after those few days, he realized that Siri wasn't around. He heard no word of her nor did he catch any glimpse of her. He had to go to Faery to ask where their other cousin had gone, but even she didn't know. Siri had just up and vanished. Her parents didn't even same to mind in the least. Rudy found that cruel. He really did wish to know where Siri had gone. Though the girl seemed a bit crazy in the head with the animals she killed and the scientific ways she spoke, Rudy cared for her and worried about whether she had been kidnapped or even murdered. But Rudy didn't wish to make a big fuss out of it. Always, he'd keep an eye out for her on the streets and he even came home a bit earlier than usual in hopes of her being there. Honestly, he had been starting to miss the cousin of his.
Maybe it wasn't expected but, a good month after Siri's disappearance, Rudy left home too. He moved in with his gang and never left. He never went him. He didn't even say so much as a goodbye. And it was all caused by one simple thing. A love confession. Rudy had been in his room and, though it was no later than nine, he was trying to get some sleep early. But Faery arrived in his room asking if she could sleep with him that night. Rudy could never say not his sister. So he got her from her wheelchair to his bed and, for the longest amount of time, they just lay there with her in his arms. Rudy had no clue what led to it but he found himself in the most awkward position when his sister, who he knew so well was a lesbian, informed him that she loved him. Not just as a brother. Not even just as a friend. But she told him that she honestly loved him as more than those. And the only reply he could conjure up was no. With that, he ran from his room. He left the house. He ran in search of Promise. There was no way that his own sister could love him. There was no way that he could love her. They were siblings! Plus he was gay and she was a lesbian. Relationships couldn't work like that.
Already having visited Promise at his home so many times, Rudy was able to locate his house and, the moment that the boy opened the door, Rudy was in his arms and, not to mention, in tears. He explained to Promise about his sister and he was given permission to stay for the night. The next day, the slipped back to Rudy's home when no one else was there and they packed his belongings to move to the gang's house. Most of the gang lived in their own homes. A few of them lived there, including Skylark. Rudy didn't go back home again. He stared there and became a fully dedicated member of the group. He was sent on much larger tasks that ended up with him, for the first time, see people die. He saw them get hurt and go through such pain. But, as Skylark had to explain to him, they were bad people. People who had murdered, raped and committed theft from the poor. Rudy was sent on missions against these people, always at Promise's side so that he'd never have to kill a man. The killing was left to Promise who always pretended he was okay with it until he was in a room alone with Rudy and was able to break down and cry.
Very often, Rudy would tell Promise that he loved him. It took the older boy so long to realize that, when Rudy said love, he didn't mean as a friend. Promise had to make it clear to Rudy that he wasn't into males. He was completely and entirely heterosexual. This brought Rudy to tears and all Promise could do was apologize. He felt so bad that he avoided Rudy for a good three days to think. Rudy never saw hide nor tale of him for those days. Then, out of nowhere, Promise drops to his knees in front of Rudy and takes his hand. And, right there, he makes the biggest promise he'd made ever before. We'll be together someday. I promise. The older boy's plan was to switch himself from heterosexuality to bisexuality just for Rudy's sake. He was going to do it because he promised and those aren't things he can break ever. This brought Rudy to tears. Finally, he'd found the boy he could spend his life with. But he'd have to wait. It was harder for Promise than he'd thought it would be. Sharing hugs was simple. Talking wasn't anywhere near a problem. Kisses caused difficulty and Promise couldn't give them. Though he'd make himself kiss back every time that Rudy brought their lips together. But sex? There was no sex. Promise was nowhere near ready to get his ass in bed with another male.
It wasn't long before Promise disappeared. No one was sure where he went but all began to fret. A video showed up at their doorstep and, popping it into the old VCR, they found Promise. But he wasn't alone. An enemy gang and gotten hold of Promise and claimed that they would kill him if they didn't bring them 921,500 Yen or, in American money, ten thousand dollars. As a sign that they honestly weren't kidding, the rest of the video merely showed the brutes of the gang beating, bloodying and bruising Promise's body. But, by the time the video was over, Promise still seemed to be alive. They had to find a way to save him. Now, it was well known that Singer was a rich man. All of his money, though, belonged to his father. Singer's father was not aware of this gang and, if Singer were to ask for so much money, the man would become suspicious. The gang had to try and get as much of the money as they possibly could. Then Skylark would find a way to get the rest.
Rudy spent his day worrying and crying. He had to find a way to help. He needed to. His plan was to spend his days at Promise's house until they got him back. But, on his way to the boy's house, he ran into a man. One he recognized to be one of the brutes in the video who had beaten Promise. Rudy was quite tempted to pull the knife from his pocket and shank the man there, but he had a deal to make. The man said that he would try to free Rudy's friend in exchange for sex. Rudy took the deal then and there. He would do anything to get Promise back, even give his own body for a short while. But when the act was done, the man put down fifty bucks at the boy's side saying that it won't buy his friend back, but it's a start. Clearly, Rudy was angry. He was sad. He was in tears. But, from that point on, he slept with several other men in order to help raise money to get Promise back. But he only went after the men who were willing to pay at least fifty bucks for him. Maybe that was too much. Maybe it was too little. Rudy didn't care. He just needed money.
They managed to get the money in time and sent two people to bring the case to the rival gang. Skylark and Rudy. Skylark because he was second in command. Why Rudy? Because he refused to stay behind. He followed right in Skylark's footsteps and no one could get him to stay back. So they let him follow. They brought the money forward and Promise was brought forward as well. Clearly alive through battered and bruised in every visible area. All they had to do was hand over the money and they promised they would give back the boy. So Skylark threw the case to them and, once they had it in their hands, it was done. Click. Click. Bang. A bullet through the head and Promise dead. By the time Skylark had a gun out to fire back at them, most of them were already gone while the others were running. He managed to shoot a few, but not in places that would stop their running. Immediately, Rudy was in tears and at Promise's side. And the only things running through his mind where why he had to die. Yet the only words coming from his mouth were his screams about how Promise had broken his promise. They were supposed to be together one day. They were going to be together forever. And there Promise lay dead. Bleeding from a bullet wound to the head.
It was the day after when they held the funeral. The body was burned and the ashes kept in an urn that was placed above the fireplace in Promise's home. It had become Rudy's home instead. He took it into his hands. But the members of the gang- no, his friends- said that he needed a vacation. He needed a place away from there that he could calm down and be happy. But they couldn't send him to somewhere that he would be alone. So they sent him to Spain. They had heard about the Rudy and Espio incident but Rudy made it clear that he still cared for his cousin and couldn't wait to see him again. So they paid all the expenses for Rudy to get to Spain and for him to get into La Campana. Though the boy clearly wasn't going there to get reformed and there was no way he would allow himself to be reformed. Rudy was gay and he wanted to stay that way.
Roleplaying Sample:
"Would I ever lie to you, Swifty? We'll be together someday. I promise."
Every morning, Rudy woke to those thoughts. But, every morning, he woke with no Promise at his side. He's coming back for me is what he would say. He was sent on an important task and will be back soon enough is what he would be sure to add in. But none of it was true. Every little bit of it was a lie. The older male was gone. Dead. Shot straight through the head after his friends had worked so hard to get the money in order to buy him back from the enemy gang. Promise, the boy named after his habit of making so many promises and managing to keep them, had broken his first promise. He would not be together someday with Rudy. He was gone and Rudy was still left behind on the face of the planet to be all alone. Sitting around believing that the man who promised to come back to him would make an appearance. Rudy was faithful. He belonged to Promise and, even though the man was dead, he didn't want to move on.
'If you leave me tonight, I'll wake up alone,
don't tell me I will make it on my own,
don't leave me tonight,
this heart of stone will sing till it dies
if you leave me tonight. '
The words left his lips without even giving them a thought and his hand strummed at the guitar as if he'd been playing this song for years. A rare note was missed but Rudy's mind wasn't on the song he was playing and singing along to. His head fell back to gently make a soft thudding noise as it hit the dorm room wall. Rudy was alone. There was no other soul in the room unless ghosts really did. And, if they did, was there a chance that Promise could be lurking around? No, no. Rudy had to get those thoughts from his head. He had to move on. He was going to force himself to move on in his life. One day, Rudy would find another man. He would love the man and they'd love him back. Not like every other time where he fell for a boy who was interested in women. Or one who was already happily engaged to someone who may or may not have been much cooler than he was.
A knock on the door interrupted his song along with his train of thoughts. He stared at the door a moment, wondering if he should just pretend that no one was home or actually get up and see who was there. Rudy was almost going to go along with the second option, thinking that the person was gone, but another knock was there.
"I'm coming, I'm coming... just hold on a minute," Rudy called out to whoever was waiting outside. He pulled the guitar strap from around his shoulders and leaned the guitar against the wall. In only a moment, he had the books on his quilt shoved under the bed and he straightened out the sheets. Well, the room couldn't look any better than it was now. Not while it was being cleaned by Rudy's hands. With a deep sigh, he tucked away his depression as he pulled open the door. Immediately, that depression from before was more than tucked away. It was wiped clean by the ran of sunshine that was there at the door. Rudy didn't have to even say a word. In moments, he was on his knees, throwing his arms around the neck of the girl in the wheelchair. No words were really needed on either end. Just a simple hug would be enough for them to explain how happy they were to see each other, even if the two siblings had only been apart for the night.
