Emi thought about what Mikari had said. It wouldn't surprise her if it was related to his sexuality. Kids everywhere were getting beat up because they were gay or unwanted. Emi could remember a kid being sent here when she was only 12. It still haunted her, thinking of the horrible things that they had done to the kid. Why hurt a kid because he is different? she thought. Course that wasn't a new topic. Emi could remember social studies classes when the talked about World War 2 or the Civil Rights Movement in the '60s. Even though Emi practically could guess why he was beaten up, but never the less she asked I probably can guess better then the councilors on what happened to you. she said, yet again taking a bite of her sandwich.
It had begun to shrink. Only a few more bits till it would be gone. Emi hoped she wouldn't have to go through the school lunch line to go buy more things. No one could really tell, by how skinny she was, that Emi ate about as much as the over-weight kids did. Emi never was into health foods so stuck to Cheetos and popcorn more then anything. If only she were back home to have one of her famous after school snacks.

Mikari blinked slightly. Was it that easy for her to tell? Well he was wearing a brace on his wrist since it was still healing. "Ah I guess it's easy. Or you have another idea of what happend." he said smiling slightly. His cheeks and the tips of his ears burning a bit turning pink. He took another bite of his apple while sipping his water afterwards. However when he took another bite he felt a small squish in his mouth making his face have one of being quesy.
"I.......think I just bit into some fruit fly eggs." he said the apple falling from his limp hand.

Eww! Emi shriked. Sure she wasn't very girly but still, your roommate biting into fruit fly eggs was a bit discusting. Emi covered her mouth, she knew they wouldn't get into her mouth but still you never actually can be sure. Spit it out! Spit it out! Just the thought of baby flys in your mouth made her want to barf. That would be horrible to through-up the first day of school.
It would be great at a public school in the middle of the year but at a boarding school at the very begining, nope. Looking around Emi saw that none of the teachers had even turned around to go see why a boy was freaking. Last time Emi checked, hopefully dead fly eggs were a bit more important then what the lunch menu was for the day.

Quickly rummaging around for a near by napkin he quickly spit said apple remmanents into said napkin. His face still looking a bit.....green. He was still having difficulty getting the taste out of his mouth. Quickly taking the water he washed it in his mouth. Swishing it a few times before going to the near by water fountain and spitting it out.
"Well....that was a bit odd." he said sitting back down.

Yeah just a bit. Emi said slightly laughing. It wasn't every day that you saw someone bit into fruit and find baby fruit flies. Maybe you should check for eggs before you buy. Emi joked, still grossed out by the whole thing. One of the teachers now went over to the drinking fountain to get an innocent sip of water to find that in there. The lady walked away quickly trying to get into some sort of conversation with someone to forget about it.
So how have been your first few classes? she asked sticking to her water and abandoning her sandwich. Emi didn't know why but if anything gross with bugs came up in a conversation over food she would ditch her food but stick with her drink, like that would help getting away the thought.

"Atleast I got it taken care of." he said as he threw the useless peice of fruit into the garbage. "So far my classes seem rather easy though. We had a pop quiz today in my math class. Pretty easy." he told Emi. Wipping his mouth again. "I still cant belive I did......that." he said in slight horror. "Lets hope I dont do that again. Maybe the school needs to improve its standards on food." he said.

Emi chuckled, finally less grossed out. She had never seen that happen before. Yeah no kidding. She said, wrapping up her bag with the turkey sandwich. My few classes have been really boring just basically sit there and learn how this school is going to improve our lives and blah, blah, blah. Emi hadn't had a pop-quiz yet but tomorrow Mr. Shurnicough was threatening one, probably just a bluff. But he didn't seem like a guy to take seriously.
Emi took another sip of her water, I haven't had one quiz. But thinking about schools, I wouldn't be very surprised. Always first days were about getting to know everyone. It was sorta strange, most of the students had just come this year, not last.

Mikari nodded in understanding. "Wow I got real.....jerkish teachers." Mikari told Emo with a small smile. "But whatever. Classes seem rather easy. If I'm lucky maybe I can boost up the levels and get to a higher classlever with a higher grade." He told Emi smiling still. Taking another drink of his water he had still. "I still cant belive I bit into fly eggs. Wait till I tell my cousin about this." he said laughing a small bit.

Emi laughed I don't know your cousin or anything, but I bet they will do a double take. Wow, was Mikari really that smart. To be able to say that he might just jump a grade that regrally. Anyone who had was in Emi's year in New York was lucky just to stay in the grade they were in. Emi had been one of the few who wasn't held back, luckily. She would hate to be a freshman again. Just thinking about that made her kringe.
Emi's 9th grade year had been the one where her parents found out that she was bi. Not the greatest thing to here from your parents that you were going to be sent to some school in Spain. Though it was sorta refreshing to find out that she wouldn't have to stay at her school, remembering how everyone reacted to her and Abby. Not good.

Mikari giggled a little. "Yeah Alu probably will just laugh or something. H often does that." he said smiling still. He finished off his water before throwing it away in the trashcan still smiling as he sat back down. Looking over to see the time he noticed how very little they had till their next class. "Shoot its almost time for lunch to end." he said pursing his lips together. Which was rather annoying since he was having a nice time getting to know his roommate.
