Appearance:
With shoulder length honey-blonde hair, impossibly long lashes and huge, violet iries, Keigo appears easily to be a breakable porcelain doll needing to be handled with extreme care. He is rather androgynous in his looks, and without a careful choice of fashion to distinguish his gender, the young boy could easily pass off as a girl. Standing at an insanely short height of 5'1" even for a growing 14 year old boy, he weighs only slightly above 90lbs, and had always been told that he 'should eat more, drink more, sleep earlier, and get out into the sun more' by his circus mates. It might be the insanely high male metabolism rate - Keigo does not bear much mucles, and he is a rather lithe boy on the skinny side. Usually, Keigo keeps himself dressed in varying shades of blue, black and purple, for a slight part of him fears that if he lets it slip, he would soon forget all about Jack's chair. His clothes are mostly loose, and hardly form-fitting. Keigo also rather takes to throwing a cloak or a hooded jacket over his clothes.
Personality:
At the start, Keigo was an innocently cheerful and bright character in the circus, regardless of his past. A tiny part of him, even though he has been through much hardship in life, firmly believed that as long as he continued smiling, he would be able to spot that one star in the night sky which would lead him to his dreams - his real parents, his adopted family, and his love; an old legend Nuriko-san let slipped when she was telling him a bed-time story once. Other than that, Keigo also believes, and has proven to himself that smiles are contagious; usually, by being the first to smile, Keigo hopes to be able to spread it to everyone around him, and to bring happiness and joy to everyone by the simple act of smiling.
However, this part of him dimmed noticibly when his one true love left him under the scrutinizing stares of everyone else in his circus. Keigo blames himself for being unable to pace their relationship well, and he also realises that their relationship was built upon one big mistake in the first place - that both him and his love were gay, were abnormal in the eyes of others. Since then, Keigo finds it hard to smile truly, although he is still able to manage fake ones when he was required to pull up a front. Also, if he sees the need for him to start the spread of smiles, Keigo would volunteer himself regardless, only to regret it later when he is alone. Perhaps a tiny part of himself reasons that if he is once again able to smile truly, and if he had found happiness without his first love, he would completely forget about him somwhow.
As a person, Keigo is shy teenage boy, and is rather bad at starting conversation topics, although he is able to speak when he is required to - he just doesn't like it. He is generally relaxed, laid-back, and not extreme about life, his choices, and how others affect him. He is easily willing to allow and to accept others into his life, although he keeps them at a polite distance from the depths of his heart - as how he believes that everyone has secrets in their hearts, secrets they would be unwilling to share, secrets which should be respected for what they were - Secrets. Other than that, Keigo is mostly willing to share, to care and to love, even though he secretly fears being hurt, or hurting someone else once more. Generally, Keigo dislikes being in power or in control, and is generally happier being led by someone else instead of doing the leading himself. Even so, Keigo is also a boy who is willing to extend a helping hand to even people he never knew, or met before, regardless of his or the other person's position.[/font]

History:
Between Yukimura Kenji and Minori Ran, the birth of Yukimura Keigo was the greatest mistake they had, and could ever have made. Both Kenji and Ran were descendants of famous, wealthy families with high social-standing; but because of their wide age gap and the conflict of interest and ideas between their families, their relationship was forbidden. Keigo was the product of their final physical night together, also a living proof of the brutal parting made to happen between Kenji and Ran. As Kenji was pushed off a cliff a couple of months after he had last met his one true love, Ran also found out that she was pragnant with Keigo - who was a child she could not carry, but also a child she could not abandon. Keigo experienced a premature birth when he was little over 8 months old, and he was left at the entrance of the performance tent of a travelling circus, which had happened to pass by Ran's town by the country side. Left with nothing but a note insisting that this child shall be named Yukimura Keigo, Ran left her only child to fend for himself in the vast world beyond, while she eventually collasped and faded away in loneliness and longing.
It was a small, but closely-knitted, british-influenced circus called the 'Chairs of Guardians'. Correspondingly, each performing member of the circus holds a title, a chair position: Ryan, the circus clown, commands the Joker's chair, while Timothy, magician with poker cards, holds the Jack's chair, and so on. The circus hardly recruits, taking in members only when needed, and replacing only when truly necessary - their limited resources and funding made these guidelines a must. Keigo's appearance was one of the first times Ryan twisted his own rules to help this abandoned child, after all he is the first of his kind - thus allowing Keigo to be brought up in the circus setting with the help of every member of the circus. Although he was much unfamiliar with his past, nor had he ever gave up the thoughts of searching for his parents, (he doesn't know they've passed away) Keigo has learnt not to question, only to accept information and knowledge as they were released to him. Keigo grew and matured quickly in the circus, learning and appreciating all that is offered to him with the help of Ryan, Sarah, Nuriko-san and Timothy, just to name the few persons most important to him. To Keigo, while Ryan was much like a father, Sarah was much like a mother, and Nuriko-san was much like an older sister. Even though he had no memories of his family, Keigo was happy to find that this group of people had accepted him as though he was their own child.
By the age of 6, Keigo was fluent in English and Japanese, with the help of Nuriko-san: a Japanese like himself. However, English was his first language, with Japanese as his second, because the circus's performances were conducted mostly in English. For curiosity's sake, Keigo has also tried to pick up spanish from Ryan, but has failed miserably at that. By the age of 8, Keigo had achieved mastery in most basic performance skills usable in the circus, and he showed a certain favouritism for beast-taming; this was also when he was given Vienatte the crimson parrot by Nuriko-san as a present, on his 8th birthday, on behalf of the whole circus. However, Keigo personally preferred handling knives and blades far more than the taming whip itself - he could often be found throwing knives at the dartboard Timothy uses to practise the aiming of his cards.
Then, came his 9th year in the circus. For the 9-year-old Keigo, who was urged past a rushed and fleeting childhood, with maturity in years far beyond his young age, it was soon decided that it was time for him to settle on a skill set; after all, it was impossible to survive in the circus without a niche. Keigo's initial interest in knives soon aided him in becoming the first accomplished knife-artist in the circus, earning him the King's chair, which has been left vacant since their deceased craft-juggler. Once merely a helper at the sidelines watching as his mates performed, Keigo was transformed into one of the key performers in the whole circus, managing spotlight performances such as knife-juggling and throwing knives in various forms. Because of the flexibility of their performances, and how their crafts could be coordinated, Keigo then often worked together with the Jack's chair, Timothy; it resulted in an easy friendship between both boys.
Keigo hit puberty when he was little past the age of 12, and that was also when both him and Timothy realised that there was something new, something foreign and much unknown developing between them both. They were quick to move their relationship from friends to becoming the best of friends, and urged by the older boy, Keigo soon became Timothy's partner in crime - From the most childish things, to planning and executing impossibly dangerous acts like their favourite impromptu, life-threatening performances (which often involved them appearing as though they were trying to kill each other) that have gotten them into serious trouble with Ryan and everyone else even though they've succeeded in keeping each other alive. Soon, they were deep in love, emotionally and physically; in the day they would be partners trying their best not to slit the other's throat open with his own craft, but by night they were often something more, more so physically.
Personally, Keigo had always felt it was his fault that he had made both Timothy and himself homosexuals, but he had also learnt not to question Timothy's love for him. Keigo reaching puberty only sped things up, and eventually they were losing control of themselves - enough for others to notice. Soon, they were forcefully seperated, physically; and when that finally happened, Timothy ran away. Before the older boy left he had begged Keigo to go with him, but was unable to convinced the younger boy, who believed firmly that he owed his life to the circus and its people. Unable to convince Keigo, Timothy left on his own, and he had broke all contact with the circus since then. Since that day, Keigo has never stopped blaming himself - he feels that their relationship was built entirely on his mistake of being too androgynous, and because he had fallen in love too easily; and that Timothy's parting was all his fault. While a part of him locked his love for the Jack's chair away permanently, another part of him desired for everything about himself to be changed, but Keigo has always questioned whether it was possible; now, with Timothy's disappearance, he was even more convinced that he was the root of all evil and that he would stay that way.
With the Jack's chair now vacant, and with the King's chair sinking into a series of depression and denial, the circus could hardly function: the other members were losing spirit, not to mention that the star performers that attracted much attention were gone, so their audience became limited once more. Among the circus mates, some were against Keigo and Alex's actions while others merely felt it was their freedom, and their choice to make. Soon enough, Ryan realised that this was no direction the circus should head towards. He could either locate and bring back the Jack's chair and risk half the circus's members' disapproval, or he could have the King's chair removed as well, for the sake of the circus. In the end, majority agreed that Keigo should be sent away - for his own good, and with most of the money they had left, the 'Chairs of Guardians' decided to send Keigo to La Campana, a place where they all agreed would be the best for Keigo in his current state, no matter their personal reasons. On the day when Keigo was due to leave the circus, Ryan secretly left him a note wishing the younger boy all the best in 'recovering himself', also assuring him that the King's chair would be permanently left vacant until its rightful owner returns to claim it as his own once more. Finally, and that should they be able to trace the Jack's chair, he would do everything in his power to bring the boy back.
With that, Keigo was sent to Spain, with firm intentions to reform, and to return to the circus, his family - to undo what he feels were his wrong-doings, and to make it up to the people he has upsetted and hurt.
Roleplaying Sample:
Glancing around at his new surroundings, Keigo heaved a weighted sigh, and dropped his violet gaze once again to the grassy grounds. With his lips pursed, the boy straightened his back slightly, allowing his lithe figure to rest against the strong trunk of the tree just outside of the main gates of his new school, La Campana. It took him approximately two deathly long minutes to count to 10 in his head slowly, taking measured breaths as he squeezed his eyes shut, as he commanded himself to clear his mind. Then again, the same thoughts haunting his mind showed no signs of retreating, and Keigo was not a person who would keep himself running against an unmovable brick wall in hopes that it would finally crumple at his attack one day; he was not a person who would fight without any guarentee of victory. Breathing out slowly, deeply, the young boy raised his head in uncertainty, and opened his eyes to take in his surroundings once again.
Spain, as he could recall from their fleeting visit here years ago, was still as beautiful as it could ever be - well of course, standing in the shade of the tree, and out of the direct rays of the sun helped. The early spring brought warm weather with it, but also left enough space for the cool, breezy nights to sooth its inhabitants' hearts. However, somehow, this cheerful atmosphere was unable to reach his heart.. With a sudden deep groan in his throat, Keigo lifted his hands to press against his temples in a fury of motions, as his legs went weak in that same moment. Thankfully, he was leaning against the tree, Keigo thought vaguely as he tightened his grasp. The last time he was here in Spain, he had had Timothy by his side; they had performed together, knives and poker cards. Now, he was alone. Truly alone, and he couldn't be any less alone anymore, now that he was left here by his family.. At this thought, a sharp pain exploded in his chest, as though his heart was being ripped apart into a thousand little pieces. It was not an unfamiliar pain, yet everytime it hit, Keigo would feel as helpless as he had been that day when Timothy left him..
Smile Keigo, you have to smile! the young boy urged himself mentally, clenching his fingers into balled fist as he shook uncontrollably. In an instant he recalled the single piece of paper sitting in his pocket - Ryan's letter, folded and unfolded so many times the paper had been crumpled miserably by him. However, Keigo made no move to reach out for it; by now he had had its content memorised. Raising his head, feeling the gentle shade of the tree throwing its cool veil over his face, Keigo heaved another sigh and opened his violet eyes.
That's right, he had to smile. A false, but satisfying-enough sense of calm overcame him, and Keigo found himself collapsing to the ground as his legs finally gave way. He had to overcome this pain in his chest and to recover from being.. Gay.. Bitting down on his lower lip harshly, Keigo shook his head and muffled a sob, too aware of the tears escaping from his eyes, and the cynical upward lift of his thin, pursed lips.
Ryan.. I really don't think I'll be able to go through this in sanity..
