Sooooooooooo, I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon... and well, I'm sadly rather hopeless when it comes to choosing good types of computers, or well, anything really. I was actually looking around the web for answers and things... and I understood so little of what is said. Ow my pride hurts. *chuckles* Anyone have any good advice?
I'm looking for a laptop with good graphics that would be able to support CS2 or possibly CS4. Soooo errrr, that would be a graphics card yes? Enough RAM that it wouldn't freeze in the middle of drawing or whatever. lololol also enough RAM for L4D2 and it doesn't need to have like, an amazing amount of memory. Just enough for the basics as well as a photo shop program and maybe a few games. Like Leroy, my computer now, only has 18 GB of memory in total, and it can support CS2, all the basics, Itunes (with like 700 songs in it) and a game or two.... Is 18 GB a lot? Ahahaa, I've noooo clue. Anyway, also keep in mind I'm paying for this computer myself.... So I don't have all too much to spend.
I don't really know half of what i'm talking about. I'm really bad at this. Bah, sorry.
Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated. Even if it's not exactly what I'm looking for it'd be something I could go off of. Thanks in advance!

I recommend getting a lot of memory. My laptop has twice the amount of a normal computer, and when I play games it loads much much faster than other computers. My laptop can also hold several online games, a lot of pds files, and it won't freeze while im in photoshop. A lot of battery is also nice to have. My laptop, with a graphics car and all of the above, was a bit inexpensive, so I will ask my dad later what mine is, though I am using a dell, which i don't know if that is your preferance.

After consulting with my internet savvy friends and family members, the one suggestion all of them seemed to come up with was the Dell XPS. The Sony Vaio is pretty nice as well, but a bit pricey.
Equally, my father threw in that you'd want to get one with a video card that has at least 512 MB on it for video games.
Lesse. Are you thinking of getting a mac or a PC? I've always been more fond of PC's, but they both have their credits. Macs are almost always more expensive--something to keep in mind. If you do get a PC, either make sure it uses vista or windows 7.
So, I'd suggest roaming around the sony and dell stores if you're thinking PC, and obviously a mac store for macs.
And if you have any question...I'll ask my dad and my friends
