Soft music played in the mostly empty lab, the sounds of the stringed instruments floating through the air. The sounds were sweet and gentle, music that was extremely under appreciated to a lot of people now a days. At least that's what Seimei thought, he rather enjoyed the soft, sweet sounds, and it helped pass the time as he spent his free period prepping for his next class. Free periods were one of his favorites time of the day, he enjoyed teaching his classes, and getting to do fun experiments with his class. But there was something about having the class room to himself for a few moments that was nice. Brushing his messy blond hair back with one hand, his icy blue gaze flickered out the window. It was beautiful outside, but such was how it had been for the past few weeks. He enjoyed watching the weather, but had a serious problem if he decided that he wished to go outside. The warmer weather meant he could only spend short intervals outside, which made it difficult to hide his heart condition. But so far, he was proud of himself, he'd been doing a wonderful job, at least in comparison to the past. Plus around here no one treated him like he was a glass doll, one of the many reasons he'd quit his last job.
Moving to his feet, Seimei moved to the window, turning off the air conditioning unit by the window, and opening the window. He'd grown fond of this place, it was very different from the two places he'd spent most of his life. Rio de Janeiro had been festive, busy, and hot as anything, it had been far to dangerous for him to go out as much as he would have liked to. Moscow had nearly been the exact opposite, there it had been cold, still a busy town, but not near as busy as Rio de Janeiro had been. Here is was much nicer, and Sei found himself feeling fond of the area. Leaning against the window he let his eyes flutter shut as the breeze blew in, messing up his already messy hair. It was really nice to enjoy his free period, just sit in relative silence, enjoy the nice weather and listen to some music. Though he really could only afford to do this for a little while longer, since he did have some experiments to attend to. Then again, he still had a while. Observing the outdoors silently, a casual smile on his lips, his eyes fell on the physical education class, he was slightly envious of them to be honest, though under different circumstances he doubted he would have enjoyed the class when he was in high school. Rubbing his chest, he winced as his fingers brushed the scar from his last heart surgery, but not being allowed to do something did tend to make a person want to do it that much more. Resisting the urge to heave a sigh, the chemistry teacher pushed himself away from the window and across his classroom.
Opening his classroom door, to allow the air to circulate, he moved to the teachers station in the front of the class room. He had one of his personal favorite experiments planned for his afternoon classes. The effects different chemicals had when mixed with fire. It was a lot of fun spraying the chemicals on the fire and watching what happened. He always ran a trial experiment before the class, it was to make sure all the equipment worked and that nothing too risky could happen. Though... with chemistry classes there was always a slight risk. Finishing the basic set up, he labeled each of the ten spray bottles carefully, in his typewriter font neat handwriting. Tying his hair back neatly, he turned on the bunsen burner and slid on safety goggles. Picking up the ninth spray bottle, labeled 'Potassium Chloride', he sprayed the fire, smiling delightedly as the flame turned purple. It was always too fun doing this experiment. Movement at the door caught his attention, and his smile turned back into the polite teachers mask as he looked up curiously.
