Only five minutes had to be spent outside before Tech locked himself back indoors again. Thanks to the cold night before, there was snow on the ground outside and the temperature was far too low. Tech hated the cold. He hated winter. But he hated summer and sunlight as well. Couldn't there be warm days with no sun in the sky? Sun burned him in moments. Even when the clouds were blocking it out, Tech burned. Nothing good comes from being Albino, unless you enjoy looking like a vampire. But the sky lacked sun these days and, as long as Tech stayed indoors, everything was fine. But as soon as he went outside, the world became miserable. Snow was fine. Snow was beautiful. But the cold just had to go. And maybe the students with it. After all, he had only been out there for five minutes. Yet he'd still somehow ended up getting caught between a fight and ended up being pelted by rocks by some kids who thought it was funny to throw rocks on a cold day. If his fingers hadn't been freezing off, Tech would have smashed the faces of those boys right through the ground. But, instead, he'd only ended up stomping off back inside to find somewhere warmer.
Tech refused to let himself catch a cold. Sure, it wouldn't kill him or anything, but even a simple cold freaked him out. He hated being sick. So, scrounging up warm clothing, he tried to think of a place in the school to hide away. The clothing search ended with Tech wearing a long sleeved black shirt covered by a dark blue turtleneck sweater to go with the the dark baggy jeans he managed to find. And Tech, liking to be so warm, just had to be wearing two pairs of black socks along with an indigo scarf he owned. During that small amount of dressing time, Tech did realize what place in the school must be his destination. This was a school and every school must have a library. Even Tech's house had a library, though that was filled entirely with realistic and educational books that weren't fun in the least. At least here, at La Campana, he should be able to get his hands on some books with mythical beasts and magical powers. Tech had been waiting many years to read a book like that. Like the fairy tales his mother use to read, only there were no more pictures and far more words. Which meant one got to put their imagination to work.
A black journal was tucked under Tech's arm as he tugged at his sleeves, hiding his pale hands while stepping through the library doors. Now, how would Tech ever know where to start? There were books to the left, to the right, even in front of him and some actually laying around on the floor. People had to learn to clean up after themselves. It was rather early and there didn't seem to be people up and about inside the school. Not with the snow outside. And, just like any normal school, there was winter break. Though this school wasn't entirely normal, it seemed to be giving out winter break as well. So Tech could have easily slept in this morning. But he'd woken at about eight. By the time he'd reached the library it was somewhere around nine. Though Tech really loved his sleep, he hadn't been getting too much of it lately. He was constantly up late with Travis which meant no time for sleep. Tech was an early bird. No matter what time he went to sleep at the night before, he woke up bright and early, ready for whatever he was supposed to be doing that morning. If there was nothing he was supposed to be doing, he'd find something to do.
Tech was scanning the library when he began humming to himself. It was true that Tech hadn't heard much music in his lifetime but, recently, he started listening to the radio that was on the alarm clock. He never knew the titles to any of the songs, yet he found himself memorizing the lyrics and tunes with ease after only a few times listening to them. Tech ran his fingers along the bindings of the books he walked by, glancing over each of the titles as he searched for something that managed to catch his eyes. But he didn't know what he was searching for. What would be a good book for him to read? Tech stopped in his tracks as he took a quick look around the library. Maybe there was someone around with a good taste in books. But who would hang out in a library if they didn't have a good taste in books. Being as silent as possible, which was rather silent for someone like Tech, he peaked around one of the bookcases but caught sight of no one. Maybe he'd have to go to his last resort. You know, just pulling a book of the shelf and going ahead to read it. But Tech knew that his luck was horrible. He'd end up grabbing the worst book imaginable. Well, this wasn't going to work.
Where was Travis? Of course that was the question on his mind. When in need of assistance, who would he go to? Only Travis. He didn't want anyone else's help. But Tech had no clue as to where the other boy would be at this time. Probably still fast asleep. But Tech needed him right now. Without his help, he'd be forever uneducated on the world of world of good books! It was funny. Travis normally seemed to make an appearance any time that Tech went anywhere. It was like that boy had this alarm in his head that screamed 'Tech's not here' every time Tech had to go somewhere else. So why wasn't he here now? Tech was tempted to just sit around and wait. Travis would have to find him sooner or later. Which only brought up the question on how that boy always found him. He had to be part bloodhound. There was no other way. Tech, dropping himself into a big green armchair, mentally slapped himself for thinking of his fiance sniffing around on the floor to get his scent. He wouldn't allow himself to be seen in public with Travis anymore if that started happening. With only a sigh, he pulled a book off the shelf beside him which, unfortunately, seemed to be a Spanish history textbook. But he'd wait for Travis to show up while reading this anyways because Tech knew that Travis would always come for him. Sooner or later, at least.

Travis liked to say that he ran on instinct in the morning. Like an animal, getting up without effort, not thinking of the early hour, not being tired in the least. This, of course, was a huge fat lie. Travis was usually just too out of it in the morning that he walked through life in a daze, ending up places without any memory of getting there. Sleepwalking... only he was awake. Kinda. Not mentally, that was for sure. Travis opened his eyes, groaning at the bright light of morning, and rolled out of bed. The thump of him hitting the floor went a little in the way of waking him up, but not much. The six-minute coughing fit that ensued because of it did help, though, once he finally caught his breath and wiped the tears from his eyes.
Travis fuckin' loved mornings. Oh yeah, his favorite time of the day. But at least he wasn't a zombie today. Though, considering how much his lungs were aching now, he'd have preferred his usual methods of waking up. Oh well. Too late to worry about regret. Regret can go suck his balls, anyway. Regret sucked. There was no way he was going to waste any of his short life on regret, of all things. Looking good? He peered blearily-eyed at his reflection, and ruffled his messy blue hair. ...yeah, he could afford to waste some time on that.
Fifteen minutes later, he stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped loosely around his hips. Looking around his room, he sighed, taking in the floor that apparently doubled as his wardrobe. He grabbed the first blue thing he saw (who was he kidding? It was all mostly blue), a white wife beater under a baggy blue sweatshirt and jeans that were almost too big for him. Dammit, was he losing weight again? Not good. He would go grab half a dozen bagels and a thing of cream cheese and wake up Tech. Yeah, he liked this plan. The only thing better than eating bagels and cream cheese was eating them with Tech. In fact... he had some stashed away in the mini-fridge in his room that he had, ah, borrowed from the cafeteria earlier that week. Sick.
He felt awake enough that morning to rap on the door to Tech's room, before walking in. He had never seen the boy's roommate anyways, so it shouldn't really matter. It was his fiancee, after all! He totally had the right. But he was disappointed when the door swung open and revealed an empty room. No cute little Chinese/Spanish albino, with or without his penis hair. Travis leaned against the doorway, having a hard time sucking in his next breath. Where was he? Why wasn't he here? Was he in trouble? Hurt? Had his dad come and taken him away in the night?
God, get a hold of yourself. Tech must have gotten up before him, is all. And gone to do... something. Like... His eyes fell on the book on Tech's bedside table, and he grinned. Like explore. He turned around and left immediately, not even bothering to shut the door. Eh, no one stole around here, anyway. What was the point? And who would steal from Tech? That was just stupid.
He walked as quickly as he could through the snow, giggling at a group of kids throwing rocks. Stupid kids. Someone was gonna lose an eye that way. Didn't they know anything? Of course they didn't... they were teenagers surrounded by snow. They had it made. Maybe him and Tech could play in the snow... after they ate. Travis' stomach growled uncomfortably, and he grimaced. Yep. Hurrying now. To the library, which was sure to seem like a dream come true to the sheltered kid. Travis bit his lip, his eyes flashing. Dammit. If he could go back in time, rewrite Tech's past... he shuddered as his fingers remembered tracing the scars on his skin.
"Fucker."
Although, if he did have the means to do that.... who knew if Tech would still love him? He would be safe, and unbroken... and probably smart enough not to choose a death sentence of a fiancee. Travis couldn't help but smile, even at the grim thought. It was that word, 'fiancee'. It made him feel like he was flying, every damn time he thought it. In fact, he skipped all the way to the library, where he threw open the doors and strode in, striking a triumphant pose, bagel bag raised, cheeks red with the cold and the quick movement, his chest straining a little. He didn't even look around to see if anyone else was in here, because they didn't really matter. Tech was here, somewhere.
His voice was loud and brash, pushing out of his lungs with enough volume to fill the whole library nicely (and surprise him).
"Hey, Tech! Guess who's lover brought him breakfast!"

The history of Spain was turning out to be not all that amusing. After a few minutes, the book lay open in his lap while his chin rested in the palm of his hand. His eyes were shut and, even after having slept the night before, he was dozing off. Tech was already beginning to believe that it would be a long and boring day. Unless he managed to get his hands on a good book. No day could be boring as long as Tech could read. It had to be his favorite hobby. But rather than read, he fell asleep in the armchair, or was on the brink of sleep. His eyes were closed as his breathing had fallen rather deeply. But the sleep wasn't heavy enough and mere whispers would easily wake him. But it was probably only a matter of time before a librarian or some student came along to inform him that, if he wants to sleep, then that's what dorm rooms are for.
Though he got a rather loud awakening, it wasn't to be told that he couldn't sleep here. Tech's eyes snapped wide but he didn't move. Travis? Of course. Travis would always come when Tech needed him around. That's just the way it worked. Smiling, he closed up the Spanish history book and slipped it back into its proper spot on the shelf. Giving an almost silent hum, he got up to his feet and swerved through the bookshelves and over to the boy. He peeked around the side of the bookshelf and eyed Travis. Tech couldn't help but smile a bit at the fact that Travis had actually brought breakfast for him and his cheeks tinted a soft pink as he moved over to the boy, his arms wrapped tightly around himself as he gave a nervous laugh. "Travis... you didn't have to bring me food," Tech spoke in barely a whisper as he stepped closer so that he could lean against the taller boy and sigh softly.
That was one of the things that made Travis so perfect. He did all these things for Tech that he didn't need to do. He didn't them without even asking or informing Tech in the first place! Not that people had to ask for permission from Tech before doing things for him. He just wasn't use to anyone doing anything for him. He had always been the one doing things for everyone else. When told to do something, he had to do it. He couldn't do pretty much anything without being told first. Tech hadn't been allowed to eat unless told to. He couldn't shower, sleep or read unless his father informed him that he could. Tech wasn't even allowed to ask if he could go to sleep or eat something without earning himself a slap across the face with rolled up papers. And now he had the freedom to do what he chose. He didn't have to do anything for anyone. Yet he felt such a need to do everything for Travis. Tech knew very well that he was doing a crappy job. He rarely did anything for Travis yet the other boy was doing everything for him. He felt like a horrible human being. And even worse of a fiance.
Anyone in the library would have to either leave or just suck it up and live with Tech and Travis being in the same room. Tech leaned up to the other boy and placed a soft kiss on his jawline as he took one of the bagels. "I guess I'm the one with the lover who brought him breakfast, right? I get to be the lucky boy today," he playfully stuck out his tongue as he pulled the bagel close to nibble at it a bit. But it was food and Tech was anorexic. He never ate much before. Whenever he did eat, it brought a sick feeling to his stomach. His eyes fluttered shut but he forced on a smile to hide his sickness as he took Travis's hand to gently tug him in the direction of the armchair he'd been sitting in before. "Now that you're here, you should stay awhile. I was actually waiting for you, you know. I need your help. I'm not sure which books are good or not. But we should eat first, yes?"

There was a horribly awkward moment, after Travis had said his bit, where everyone just kinda looked at him. He gave a jaunty wave to the librarian, hiding the bag of food behind his back without even trying to be subtle about it. Hey, Tech needed his substance! It was very important! And it was up to him to keep Tech healthy and happy! And he would perform that job to the best of his abilities. And if the librarian did come over here and try to get mad, he would totally pull the 'hey I'm dying' card. It never failed. He could even cry on demand, if he needed to! Not that he had used that one since his voice had broken... It just didn't have the same effect anymore. Although there was that time... Anyway, he had matured from that. For sure. That was so last year.
Oh, shit. The librarian had just got up... He prepared his tears ducts. But then... saved! He was saved! Because who was it, walking towards him? The one and only, the sex of sexy, his fiancee, Tech. Man, it was embarrassing what this boy could do to him, just by showing up in his sight. His heart started to pound, and his grin grew even larger, and he laughed out loud, as the sound echoed through the library. Oops. His cheeks flushed bright red, he wrapped his arms around the boy, leaning in to kiss the top of his head sweetly. "Of course I brought you food, you looby! But you weren't in your room, so I had to come find you, and I have foods now, and I have you, so it's perfect!" He glanced over at the librarian, nervously, not really paying attention to what he was even saying. What a creepy librarian. But him and Tech were an unbeatable team!
Awww, the kid was too adorable! He was blushing and everything! Man, he was in love with this boy. Head over heels, write up a list of cliches and he would check off each one. And he didn't ask for anything, which was why Travis loved to do things for him. He loved seeing surprise in the kid's eyes. It was also up to him to teach him how to have a good time, and that was something Travis was good at. He had always been good at playing every every day as just that one moment, that last moment. It was... something he was known for. Something he was good at. One of the very few things he was good at. Though he was gonna make 'Making Tech's Life Awesome' the TOP of the very short list of 'Travis' Skills.' Oh yeah.
Chuckling happily, his eyes fluttered shut at the boy's kiss, and he pulled him in tighter against him. "I'm gonna make you the luckiest boy every day. Sound good?" He pulled a bagel out of the bag, holding it up to the boy's lips with a gentle smile, though his eyes watched him closely, making sure he really was eating. His stomach twisted nervously. He couldn't stand seeing him like this. Not that he didn't find him terribly attractive and sexy, but... Travis had memorized the feel of every one of the boy's ribs. It wasn't healthy, it wasn't safe, and he would lose weight in a few years, no matter what he said. He would have to make Tech pack on pounds now, while he was still around. Another job. This one might be one of the hardest to follow through on. He let the boy tug him towards one of the darker corners of the library, a huge smile back on his face. "You taking me to a corner to ravish me or something? I won't deny I'd enjoy it. You need my help? Ah... " He grinned, sitting down on the comfy chair and pulling Tech down on his lap. "Eating first! of course! Always! It's a rule."

Tech didn't even notice or hear the librarian. His eyes were fixed on Travis as was every other sense of his. When Travis was around, nothing else ever really mattered to him. He hummed rather happily at the feeling of the taller boy's lips at his forehead. But with a soft laugh, he brought a hand to press one of his fingers up to Travis's lips. "Quiet, Travis. We're in a library. We have to use a quiet voice here. How did you know I'd be here?" Tech asked curiously as he tilted his head to the left. Travis did appear rather happy at he fact that he had Tech and food at the same time. It had to be a good combination. Obviously, Tech was just happy that Travis was happy. The thought of eating made him a bit sick but he did leave Travis in charge of what he ate and how much. Though Tech had been stumbling on little snacks for himself the past few days. He never threw any of it up, so it had to be good. It was pretty much just toast or cereal. Though he'd skipped eating this morning. Good thing Travis had shown up.
Tech smiled as Travis pulled him closer and he nuzzled his face against he taller boy's shoulder. "All you have to do is hold my hand and I feel like the luckiest boy in the world, Travis. No one could ever be as lucky as I am," he assured Travis as he lifted his gaze to stare up at him with a smile. But he dropped his gaze to the bagel and sighed. He knew he'd have to eat it. It's not that it tasted bad. Tech could handle the taste of anything, whether he liked it or not. Though he'd rather not have to taste fruit, he could manage with those too. The problem was not throwing up afterward. It's not like he was doing it on purpose. Just all the years of not eating a lot that caused this anorexia. Now there's actually someone in his life who's making him eat. It was a painful process to go through, but Tech was thankful. To be eating so little was unhealthy. The thought that it could kill him had crossed his mind and he refused to die yet. For the next six years, he'd do everything he could to live. After that, well, he wouldn't go out of is way to kill himself but he could stop trying to do things that would make him live for sure.
"No, Travis... I'm taking you to the corner that I always sit in so we can eat and then you can help me find those good books you wanted me to read," Tech told the boy as he rolled his eyes. There was a very high chance that he gave a hint of a squeak as Travis pulled him into his laugh. But he tried to cover it up with a nervous laugh as he clutched the bagel tight in his hands. In Tech's mind, a library was almost a holy place. And would two males sit like this in a holy place? Probably not. But Tech didn't want to move away. Instead, he leaned in close and rested his head against Travis's chest as he brought the bagel to his lips to manage taking another bite. "You always have funny rules, Travis. But you're the boss... so you go right ahead and make the rules. I'll follow them. I'll do anything you ask me to, Travis."

Having those eyes on him did silly things to Travis' insides. Made them all churny and messy and fuzzy and warm. He wanted to sing and dance and give the boy a piggy back ride all the way to a happy ending. Or something equally cheesy. But... He couldn't do any of those things. So instead, he just let his smile split wider, as he gathered the boy closer. He felt so right in his arms... And aha! There was more of him, he was sure of it. Good. Very very good. The finger on his lips made him shiver in all the right places. Though maybe they were all the wrong places. They were in a library, after all. He chuckled, and licked his finger, slowly, his eyes glinting mischieviously. But his voice does lower, a little bit at least. "Quiet voice. Library. Got it. And... I knew you'd be here because I have Tech-dar. Tech radar. See, I woke up, and went to your room, and something whispered 'he ain't here. He's off being lonely in the library. And bring food!'" He nodded sagely, somehow managing to keep a straight face through this story. Impressive. He gave himself a mental pat on the back. "I love food. And being able to eat whenever I want! Another reason I love it here."
Feeling Tech nuzzle against his shoulder, he sighed in pure happiness. Moments like this made him actually feel like he was glowing, taking the feelings of Tech's presence and turning it to this amazing energy, this light glow that he swore he could almost see. It took him a moment for his brain to translate his words into something he could understand- he was so slow in the mornings, sometimes- and when he did, he felt his face grow hot. He was glad Tech wasn't looking at his face. Oops. Take that back. His face got even redder as he met the boy's eyes. To cover for himself, he bent down, and stole a kiss from those perfect lips. Those lips that just said... The best things. The best things. "Well, you won't mind if I hold your hand forever, right? My verrsion of forever. That's okay, right? But, not to disagree with you or anything, I'm pretty sure that I'm the luckiest guy in the world. Just saying. Because I've got you." He frowned when he followed the boy's gaze, and heard him sigh. His stomach clenched, and he bit his lip, sudden;y very serious. There was a pleading in his voice. "You have to eat it. Please? Please, for me?" He hated forcing him to do things, but he needed to get used to at least three small meals a day. Otherwise, he would just fall right back into his bad habits, as soon as Travis was... Gone.
Not the time, Travis. Not the time.
"Oh. This makes sense. So, you're going to eat? Awesome! You eat, and I'll eat, and then we'll talk about what books you should start with. You finished all the Harry Potter books, right? Did you like them? They're pretty unique, but I like 'em." The squeak caused him to laugh out loud, and nuzzle the boy's neck with his nose, giving it a playful lick before sitting up straight again, causal as you please. He shivered at Tech's words, liking the implication of him. "Same for me, Tech... Unless you're being silly. Then I'll just keep going on my merry way, if you don't mind. And dragging you along, of course. And funny rules make everything better! So eat your bagel, and I'll make mine... Sure you don't want cream cheese on that? It's better..." His voice drops a little lower, speaking almost to himself. "And more fattening." [/blockquote]

Tech snapped his hand back, his eyes narrowing into a glare. He really should have known that it was a bad idea to put his fingers near Travis's mouth. But to lick him? He huffed softly and moved his hand to wipe it on his pants and look away. He mumbled the word idiot under his breath though it very easily could have been unheard by even someone right beside him. Tech lifted his head a bit and stared at the other boy for a long moment, shaking his head in disbelief. "You come up with horrible lies, Travis. Maybe entertaining in the slightest, but at least come up with something more believable. But if you won't give me the real reason, I guess I can settle with that one just fine for now," Tech decided with a deep sigh. If it were Tech making up the reason, he'd have come up with something better in his head, though probably not have said it out loud. Like an epic journey to to the ends of he world to find... well, himself. Unless the roles are being switched. In that case, it makes more sense for Tech to be journeying that far. "I'm amazed you aren't morbidly obese yet with how much you claim you love food... it's a good thing too. I don't know how I'd react to you being that way."
Just that one simple kiss took Tech's breath away. He smiled warmly and curled himself right against the taller boy's chest. Though one hand was still carrying his bagel, his other hand went to the front of Travis's shirt to grab onto it. Yes, he knew Travis wasn't about to leave him but, yes, he was still going to be clingy. "But if you're holding your hand forever, that means you have one less hand to..." Tech trailed off there, giggling softly and shaking his head. No, the library was not a place for dirty comments. He would keep his lips sealed and save the things he'd almost said for someone more private where there was no chance of being heard. With a soft sigh, he nuzzled his face to Travis's neck, gently living a trail of kisses a long it. The other boy's question seemed rather pointless. He didn't need to continuously ask him to eat. Tech would do what he asked. There was no worries there.
Tech found himself giggling again as he nodded his head. "Travis, you talk so much... not too much just... a lot. But... yes, I finished that series already. I enjoyed it a lot, don't worry. But I need new books now," he informed him with a quick nod of his head. He hardly ever had anything to do in his spare time. He always got his homework done in the least amount of time he could which still left him with time to spare. That left him to either hunt down Travis or read. But Tech always went with reading. He loved Travis, but if the other boy wanted to see him, he would come find him himself. Otherwise Tech wasn't about to go be a bother. "Maybe you're right... I'm just use to the strict and stupid rules and all that. I really like your rules. And... if it's a rule that I'm not allowed to eat a bagel plain, then I guess you'll have to force me to have cream cheese on mine. So, is that a rule too?"
