Rod couldn't help but squee and hug Fao. "Sooo.... Cute." He laughed but in a happy way of course. He was so happy with that answer. The way he said it and how he looked just made it all so cute. Such a innocent little guy. And Rod was lucky to meet this cutie. He snapped out of it realizing friends don't hug for this long. He backed off feeling like that was a close call. He hoped that didn't raise anything thoughts of what his true feelings are. That wouldn't happen right. That would be so embarrassing for Rod. He accidentally blushed a little not realizing it.
"Huh! What!" He kind of zoned out there for a second. He shook his head and made a big smile. "Oh! Well we can play video games! We can talk like this. We could have lunch together of course. And well hang out." He patted Fao on the head. "We can do anything you want to do." He said excitedly by accident. 'Oh my' he thought. He wondered why he was being so excited and overly energetic. He hasn't been like this in a little while since he's come here. And he was so happy that he found someone to put a smile on his face.

And he was being hugged, man the people in this school really liked physical contact didn’t they? Or at least Rodrick did. And oddly enough when the taller boy laughed Faolan laughed too the hug made his chest feel light, and he couldn’t help but smile. A little thrown off to be sure and his cheeks tinted as well, but he laughed and even lifted an arm to hug back awkwardly.
”I don’t know what I did that was cute but thank you.” He was still chuckling a bit when the hug ended not knowing how the day had turned out this way. This was some of the best feelings he’d had in a while and it all was because of a practical stranger.
Listening to the list of things to do he liked the talking and lunch part though he never was one for video games. The hanging out part he’d have to figure out eventually but no need to press it now. He huddled against the hand going toward his head, but soon relaxed when he found it was only a head pat. At Rodrick’s excitement Fao smiled brightly the happiness even leaking into his deep blue eye. Putting his hands on either side of him on the bench Fao leaned back a bit and kicked his feet happily. This was amazing he had a friend, a very unique, exuberant friend. At least it would be something that would brighten up his life quite a bit.
”Can we maybe see a movie? I love movies, but sometimes it gets lon-“ His cheeks burned when he realized what he was asking and how it could sound. Flustered a hand flew to the back of his head to rub it as he laughed forcefully. ”I mean we could go sightseeing! I haven’t gotten out much usually just stay in the school. But if you don’t want to that’s okay.” That was a close call his stomach was churning and he knew that his cheeks were red. Once again he proved how idiotic he was and how incompetent he was around people.

Rod blushed as he felt Fao hug him back. That was nice while it lasted. Now Rod was feeling that he shouldn't of let Fao go. He missed it as soon as he let go. He even pouted a little about it. Rod looked down for a moment hoping his blushing would disappear. How embarrassing. His glasses slid down his nose again. That was annoying because it kind of tickled and his glasses keep slipping.
But now his blushing was only to get worse. The sun reflected on his glasses and his mouth sort of dropped open. He could not believe what he heard come out of those beautiful lips. Did Fao just ask Rod out on a date to see a movie. Oh how he was waiting for this. But wait, this was way to soon. He realized now that Fao probably didn't know what he was saying. He smiled when Fao stopped what he was saying. He knew what Fao was going to say and it made him happy. "Fao, I'll go anywhere you want to go." He wasn't even afraid of saying something so, you know.

Glancing over his eye went wide when he finally spotted that his strong, confident new friend was blushing. Why was he blushing? He stopped leaning back and instead leaned forward a bit to get a better look. The guy's glasses slid a bit and it only proved to make him blush more or so it seemed. Fao smiled glad that he wasn't the only one who blushed randomly. "Why are you blushing? Did I say something wrong?" Usually he wasn't so forward with his questions, but he was rather curious about why the guy was blushing so much.
After his flounder about the movie he bowed his head as now it was his turn to burn with embarrassment. Even though the answer was a positive one he still felt foolish. How could he of made such a blunder! He didn't date and he certainly did not date boys. "Well, I don't want to do something you don't want to do...uh...what kind of movies do you like? If you want to see a movie." He wrung his hands and shuffled his feet knowing he sounded ridiculous. At least he was making an attempt most times he wouldn't even try that. But one can only go so long with being alone.
Lunch wouldn't last much longer and he certainly didn't know when he'd see his 'new friend' again. Knowing his luck the guy was only being nice and then would avoid him as soon as lunch was over. He was probably only being nice to him because he'd given the guy his lunch. Sighing at this revelation his body sagged a bit as all the previous excited flew right out of him. So much for having a friend.

Rod sat more straight and kind of looked away when Fao pointed out that he's blushing. Rod was so embarrassed now. How could he let himself slip up like that. Damn these cheeks of his, why do they curse him so. "Blushing? What are you talking about?" He had his hands holding the edge of the bench on each side of his legs, his fingers taping the edge of the bench. This was so troublesome. He didn't know what to do. He just got really nervous and was going crazy in his mind. The rod in his mind was running around like crazy trying to find a idea in the many drawers on his mind.
He slouched down forward, he felt low for some reason. He let out a big sigh and leaned back on the bench resting his arms on the back of the bench. He looked up at the sky with a frown. He realized that class was going to start soon. And that meant he may lose contact with his new friend/love. That mad him sad and he didn't realize that Fao spoke again until know. His eye's were closed at the time but one opened and looked at Fao. "I like all kinds of movies. Don't worry cutie, I'll do anything with you as I said before, for I like you a lot." A imaginary steam exploded out of him as he realized what words he used. He's having such a hard time keeping his love Fao secret. And that was almost a knock out punch for him. The mind version of himself was screaming with anger and tugging at his own hair with angry eyes and sharp teeth saying,'You fool what have you done!'

With the first questions hitting his ears his eye widened and he bowed his head. He could of sworn that the other boy had been blushing, but maybe he was just warm. Twiddling his thumbs he stared at the floor not knowing what to do now that he'd upset his new friend. That's what he got for asking questions that he had no right to ask. What people's feelings or actions were and the reason for them were their own business. Biting his bottom lip he twisted his right thumb with his other hand now too shy really to say anything lest he say something wrong.
He said his little bit about the movies but didn't say anything after that. Both him and Rodrick didn't look to pleased at the moment, and from his stand point it was all his fault. Even the words that came next didn't prove to lift his spirits too much. Though it did tinge his cheeks to hear Rodrick call him a cutie. Deciding that the awkward feeling between them needed to be broken he stood and turned to face the blond boy. Still wringing his hands and pulling on his thumb he stared at Rod for a moment before staring at the floor.
"Y-you d-don't have to say so m-mm-many nice things. It's alright if you don't w-want to hang out. W-well, it was nice to s-s-sit with you." He picked up the now empty tray to put it back in the cafeteria. It was his tray he should take responsibility for it. Another glance up at the boy before he started off head and spirits down. But it was nothing new he was used to being alone, and would soon forget the feeling of hope that he'd felt today. Nothing new, nothing special.

Rod smiled at the thought of not losing contact with Fao. Hanging out with Fao would be so fun. And so tempting to hug and squeeze him with love. Rod so wanted there friendship to be more than just friends. But he knows he needs to take it slow. They had only met and Fao is Rods first friend at this school. He doesn't want to blow it and end up friendless.
Rod sat up properly pushing his hair back as stray trans of hair were in his face. He was about to ask when they'll see each other again when Fao said something that made Rods heart fall down like a star. His eyes widened and soon his face was twitching with anger. He stood up and sped right over to Fao and put his hand on Fao's shoulder forcing him to turn a bit. "This isn't fake Fao, I'm your friend. Obviously I want to hang out with you. So why, why are you acting this way all of a sudden."

His feet felt like they were filled with lead. His heart felt like it was being dipped in nitrogen oxide. It was better to have a frozen heart against the world like he usually had than dare hope. He mustn’t hope, mustn’t wish because it hurt too much to remember that rush that he got whenever he did. Figuring he’d never see Rodrick ever again he certainly did not expect the taller boy to suddenly be in front of him. A bit jostled when the tall blond grabbed him Fao’s eye went wide and he nearly dropped the tray in surprise. Swallowing nervously his eye darted to the floor and back up to Rod’s.
”I don’t want a friend out of pity. I don’t want people to be nice to me one minute just because they think they have to, but later ignore that I exist. I don’t need that kind of friend.” He bit his bottom lip his brows furrowing in the attempt to not get overly emotional. “And it’s not obvious to me, it’s not obvious whether it’s fake or truth. So many people have seemed sincere only to hurt me, ignore me, to promise me friendship only to shove me aside like a broken toy after Christmas morning.”
Where was all of this coming from? Why was he blathering? It was like a dam had broken and he couldn’t stop it. He took a step back shutting his eyes tight before taking a deep breath. ”If you’re going to be my friend, really my friend, then it can’t be out of pity. It can’t because you see a half blind, little boy with an eye patch that sits alone. It has to be because y-y-you l-l-like me. For me.” He was a raving lunatic he hadn’t pulled this with anyone else, so why was he doing it to Rodrick? Maybe because Rod was so up and down with his emotions? Or maybe it was because he looked so much older, and looked and acted like he wasn’t the type that needed many friends.
Breathing a bit erratic, head bowed, and nearly shaking he stood there clenching his teeth not knowing why he’d just blown up, and not knowing what would come out of it. After a minute he chanced an upward glance feeling his cheeks and eyes burn. I’m such an idiot. There went my only chance at having him as a friend. At least he’d had a nice lunch.
