Appearance: Elliot originally had dark brown hair, but decided one day, as a testament to his eco-friendly lifestyle, to dye his hair green (using only all-natural, non-ozone-depleting dye, of course). His eye color, however, he decided to leave be. Elliot stands at about 5'10", being of relatively tall stature for someone his age. He's got an athletic, rather muscular build from his days of frisbee and soccer. His hair is a short, choppy cut, but very soft. His skin doesn't burn very easily, which is really good considering all the time he spends outside between frisbee and soccer. He tends to go for organic-cotton material clothes and always makes sure to check that they were colored with all-natural dyes. His choker is made from 100% recycled materials, and he tends to go for loose-fitting, denim jeans. If he can't move freely in it, he won't wear it.
Personality: Elliot's a bit of an enigma; he's passionate about helping people he's never met, yet he somehow seems very detached from his loved ones. He loves technology and everything new and modern, but only if it doesn't hurt the environment. He can't stand mindless fighting, yet is always ready and (more than) willing to protest or debate, armed with nothing more than a picket sign or his words. He's very involved in gay rights, yet he is straight....okay, that last statement was somewhat questionable. At anyrate, Elliot is a rather peculiar boy. He's always been interested in politics and policies concerning foreign affairs, environmental issues, and human rights (under which he includes gay marriage.) He's one of those straight guys that think, "Hey, everyone should be able to marry who they love, right? It's not like they're trying to hurt anyone." He's a bit of a romantic, but is a bit frightened of love. Friendship is solid, dependable, stable...but love? It's unpredictable, potentially devastating...and therefore totally fascinating. He can enjoy a cozy relationship, but the person absolutely must be someone who he can trust; a confidante, a best friend, a partner in crime, and a lover....all rolled into one. Yes, its a tall order, but Elliot's willing to wait...and wait...and wait. He's patient that way. Also, that allows him time to think of how to entertain himself until he meets that someone (

History: Elliot was born into a fairly conservative family; businessman for a father, stay-at-home wife for a mother. However, growing up in New York City, he was exposed to the many different sides of politics. He became quite a liberal child, always speaking of the dangers of global warming, how the environment must be saved, and the injustices of society today. His parents weren't very strict, and allowed him to have his political freedoms. His grandparents, however, were not so happy about this. They suggested that the family move away from the hustle-and-bustle of city life to escape the 'negative influences affecting Elliot.' Of course, his parents eventually agreed (mainly because they had lost their jobs, and couldn't afford city life anymore), and when Elliot was 14, they packed it all up and left for Maine.
At first, Elliot was horrified; it was such a small town, such a close knit community...how could he ever fit into the tightly weaved tapestry of the area? But, the neighborhood was open and accepting, and he soon found himself surrounded with friends and happy relationships. Being the charming boy he was, he caught the eyes of several girls that he went to school with...however, he never really got the message, and while he probably would've dated them, he never picked up on their flirtatious signs. Of course, even in the small town, Elliot still kept up-to-date with his news...his news being environmental news, foreign affairs, and human rights, under which he included gay marriage. So, when he heard that the state of Maine was proposing to ban gay marriage, he was outraged. He immediately began to organize protests in the area, vehemently trying to get people to shut down the proposal. He managed to get the people of the town riled up...until his grandparents got wind of it. They were mortified, and fearing that their grandson was gay, sent Elliot off to La Campana immediately. Of course, his parents would've stopped them from packaging their son off, but it was a good school after all, and his grandparents were paying the funds. It was simply a deal that was impossible to refuse. So, tearfully, Elliot bid his parents goodbye and left for Spain.
Roleplaying Sample: Elliot grasped the handle of the suitcase tightly in his palm. Yup, this was it. He wasn't coming back to Maine again for the rest of his high school career. He wasn't gonna see his friends, his Mom, his Dad....his grandparents...
On second thought, he mused, Maybe it won't be quite so bad...
"Mom," he said, turning to the woman with tears in her eyes, "I love you. You know that, right? And Dad? You're a boss."
He grinned at his tearful parents, "Don't worry, you two...I'll be good, and write regularly. Pinky promise."
With that, he boarded the plane, and slid into his seat. He leaned his head on the window, staring out at the runway. Spain, huh? Not the final frontier, but may as well be for the kid. He couldn't speak Spanish for beans, wasn't a dancer, a chef, an artist, or anything else that would lead most to Barcelona. Hell, he wasn't even that religious....how would he fit with the Roman Catholic crowd? And being shipped off to a 'reformatory school'? It's like he did something wrong, like he was actually gay or something (not that its bad to be gay, he's just saying...) He folded his arms, huffing an angry sigh as he leaned back in his seat. It wasn't fair. They were treating him like a criminal...because of his supposed orientation? He never even kissed a guy before, why would he? Yeah, guys can be cute...and sometimes hot...what would it be like to kiss another guy?
....oh crap, Elliot thought to himself, I'm not really...no....way....
