Just throwing this out there for anyone who might be interested, if any at all. So there's this movie called Fight Club. And well, the short and super-super basic gist of it is about fighting clubs. Minimal rules, pretty much the 'clubs' are just spots where people work out their aggression in one of the most primal ways possible. The rules are here: www.diggingforfire.net/FightClub/If anyone, guy or gal characters (We can modify stuff so that female character can join too, so it's not just the man-club the book and movie have it as), is interested, we can work something out. At fight club, you come, you fight, you go home, you come again when you want to. Nothing is solved, but maybe you'll go home feeling just a little stronger or at least a bit tougher. And yes. If anyone wants to have a friendly fight, say so. Dis would be happy to oblige. There's to be no enmities to be made through these fights, all in all it's just a raw form of therapy, you could say. As for specific rping rules concerning fights, it's pretty straight-forward. You don't say "Jimmy punched Mark in the nose and broke it", you say "Jimmy aimed a punch at Mark's nose, intending to break it". Let the other person decide whether or not the punch lands. And be realistic, your character probably isn't a god and will take some hits. For best results, discuss the fights beforehand. Mmn yes. Whee!

... Now, if you could just have an armored version, Deadeye would prally join. Assuming, of course, that the club was school-sanctioned. Or, if he could be convinced it was.

Why is Kenneth afraid to fight without his armor on? Just wondering.

He isn't. He just doesn't like to do so, and he has his 'rules' that he lives by. He'll fight without his armor, but only if he doesn't have time to put it on. Or, perhaps, in a sparring match. You could call it a personal preference. (Also, he doesn't have anything else to fight in...)

Fight club is more or less a sparring match, just random fights between willing participants who want to work some aggression out the raw way. Main difference between the so-called clubs and an actual sparring match is that there are no rules except that you can't use outside weapons or armor. There's no specific style you have to follow, just don't kill your opponent and stop when the loser says to. Discipline isn't a focus, it's just release. Fighting for fighting's sake- learning how to be tough, but without all the ties of a military or martial arts program.
Dis fights in his normal clothes. Jeans, boots and a t-shirt. But in an actual fight club setup, rules state that he'd have to go shirtless and shoeless, as would his opponent. It keeps things a little more fair between the two.

Ah, then, yes, Deadeye will join. And will forgo the armor. (He'll go shopping for some suitable pants to wear)

Ooh, sounds good. As it is, the fight club would just start as...well...a fight. If you'd like, we can figure out a setup where Kenneth and Dis could start said fight. In whatever case, I can start a thread for you once we figure out a storyline.

Hmm. Perhaps the two of them get to talking after class, to start it off with? Dis would probably ask Kenneth what the deal was with his armor, and after that they could get onto the topic of fighting? I'm not entirely sure yet.
But yeah, either after class or sometime in the early evening, I can see this starting. Think they should get in a fight upon first meeting, or wait? I'm sort of thinking about modeling it after Tyler and the Narrator's first parking lot fight from in the movie. That starts out as just a normal conversation, then Tyler tells the Narrator to hit him- fight escalates from there. So that's pretty much all I have for an idea at the moment. Let me know if inspiration strikes you?

That sounds like a good idea, but the fight would have to be later... Deadeye would be wearing his armor when they first meet.
